TheLT8641SXEisaTransitionMinimizedDifferentialSignaling(TMDS)switchthatenablestheconnectionofmultipleHigh-DefinitionMultimediaInterface(HDMI)sourcedevicestohigh-definitiontelevision(HDTV).BasedontheHDMI1.4specification,LT8641SXEisanadvancedTMDSswitchthatdeliversacost-effectivemethodformanufacturerstoaddadditionalHDMIportstotheirHDTV.MultipleHDMIportsallowconsumerstoconnectvarietyHDMI-enabledsourcestotheirHDTV.ItsupportsHDCP1.4specifications,andAudioReturnChannelfunction.
TheLT8641SXEisafour-to-one(4:1)switchideallysuitedforuseinthebackpanelofHDTVandA/Vreceivers,allowingconsumerstoconnectmultipleHDMI-enableddevicessuchashigh-definitionDVDplayers,settopboxesandgameconsoles.TheLT8641SXEswitchselectsasingleHDMIorDigitalVisualInterface(DVI)signalfromthefourreceiverportsandgeneratesHDMI/DVIaudio/videooutput,aswellasDDC/HPDswitching,infullcompliancewiththeHDMIandDVIspecifications.TheLT8641SXEalsoactsasaHDMIreceiver.ItextractsthedigitalaudioinformationfromtheHDMIpacket,andrecoversdigitalaudiotoI2S/SPDIFinterface.Soitcanbeappliedtothemulti-channelaudioamplifierforbestaudioeffect.ThisfeaturecanenableanexternalHDMIswitchingboxactsasahomeentertainmentboxthatcanoutputupto8-channelhighqualityaudiosignalforthebestaudioeffect.
